about

That was originally named "Berlin by night". I think that says it all.

lyrics

My city by night is a mystery unsolved
my city by night is an experience to be told
my city by night, streets are moaning, people's gone
just a few youngsters screaming
trying to touch the sky with their mind

My city by night, a romantic fog choking the bus stop
you're staring at some lady's beauty
and think how life can be cruel with you

My city by night, the rain is coming by surprise
you're all alone with no protection
the trains aren't caring about you
they just let you out
if you choose to enjoy one more second of soulfulness.

And I build another pointless castle of words
on top of my insane experiences
and I keep building and shipping them
to an address I still have to find out
and I keep thinking of addresses
from all the alcoholic complaints I had

It's night now in the city, a map laying at the station
I'm trying to find your street, girl,
even though you didn't even tell me your name
but that, that was alright anyway.

It's night now in the city, I'd like to throw my personality
into the little green bag of ancient things
and leave it staring at the flea market
next to stolen bikes and dirty beds
broken mattresses, fake ethnic antics and cheap street food.

And my city by night is all like this
but it is all just in my head
because it's night and it's just me alone
plus a few selected others around
but I'm unsure they might be real.

And my city by night is all like this
sounds like a plan, it's up to you
up to the madness of your thoughts
up to the railway running fast

My city by night, it stares at me
like an old mother at her kids
and there is only one thing left to say:
you can love it, you can live with it
but there's no escape, there's no escape
there's no escape, there's no escape from here in the end
there's no escape, there's no escape from the city in the end
